President's Message - Spring 2008

It's hard to believe that our Chapter is now in its seventh year!  Many people have devoted tremendous time and resources to make our Chapter a success, and I speak for the Board as a whole when I thank the members and sponsors who have contributed to our Chapter's growth.

We are now LMA Northwest!
Over the last couple of years, LMA Seattle has reached out to incorporate our Portland, Oregon colleagues and those elsewhere in the Northwest.  This year we are particularly pleased to have two Portland-based Board members serve the Chapter - Scott Weimer and Chrissa Kruger. In 2007 through the help of immediate past president Jason Miller and others, we took the necessary steps to formally change our Chapter name to "LMA Northwest."  The Chapter and National voted in favor of the name change and we are now officially LMA Northwest!  The new name better reflects our membership from across the region.  We look forward to more joint programming with our friends from across the Northwest and welcome them to the Chapter!

Programming Update
Last month we kicked off our 2008 programming with Paul Burton's QuietSpacing, a time management method for busy professionals.  In May, we welcome legal marketing veteran Sally Schmidt.  Stay tuned for more details on Sally's program and other valuable programming coming your way.
