In this presentation, Kent Zimmermann of The Wicker Park Group will offer a critical examination of how in-house counsel think when it comes to selecting, managing and collaborating with outside counsel. He will also cover perceptions about how outside counsel under-perform and over-perform; the largest legal department challenges and how outside counsel can help solve those challenges; billing missteps and how firms can prevent them and the nuances of legal department pressures when it comes to outside counsel costs and how to be sensitive to those pressures. The presentation includes extensive use of direct, off-the-record quotes from in-house counsel at leading companies.
