Barry Soloman, Vice President and General Manager, LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell led a discussion on the key factors involved in a corporation's hiring of outside counsel. The discussion went beyond a "step-by-step" approach. It delved into the deeper issues such as the roles played by the C-Suite; a firm's diversity ratio; geographic footprint; and other important relationships such as golfing buddies and nepotism, when making the final selection. The program included key findings from Martindale-Hubbell's survey of in-house counsel: "State of the Profession Report: How Corporations Identify, Evaluate and Select Outside Counsel."
