Bullivant Houser Bailey PC is hiring for a Marketing Manager position, based in our downtown Seattle office.

The position will be an integral part of Bullivant’s West Coast Marketing team.  The position will report to the Marketing Director, based in our Portland office.  The person in this position will manage Seattle and specific Practice Group marketing projects, and will collaborate in the development of Firm marketing strategies and the effective implementation of West Coast marketing programs and initiatives.  The Marketing Manager will embody the Marketing philosophy of treating attorneys and staff as clients. He/she will demonstrate this through diplomacy, enthusiasm, accountability, strong work ethic, and superior service.

Responsibilities/Duties:

            Work with the MD and other Marketing staff to develop overall firm Strategic Marketing Plan.

            Assist the MD and specific practice group leaders to identify new opportunities and implement new business and cross-marketing activities.

            Work closely with the MD, Marketing team, practice groups, and firm management to implement firm marketing goals, objectives, and strategies.

            Develop and manage Seattle-market media relations program.

            Advise and provide assistance in the creation and ongoing production of internal communications vehicles, such as marketing portion of the Intranet.

            Implement client development activities (client seminars, special events, attorney presentations, sponsorships, etc.) in the furtherance of the Firm’s strategic and marketing goals.

            Assist the MD in the creation and execution of the firm's branding campaign (when we begin one), including corporate identity issues, internal branding activities, website redesign, and advertising programs.

            Oversee planning and production of firm and Practice Group newsletters and client alerts

              Attend various Practice Group meetings to assist attorneys with development of marketing initiatives and identifying opportunities for cross marketing

              Assist with coordination, review, edit and design responses to RFPs

            Serves as Seattle in-house resource to lawyers and staff on marketing and internal/external communications, advise practice group liaisons and practice groups on relevant trends, and generate new business ideas for consideration.

Operations Management

            Work with MD and Marketing team to prepare annual marketing budget.

            Monitor and control expenditures of all assigned accounts made against the budget throughout the year.

            Maintain project tracking system.

            Procure and direct the services of vendors (designers) retained to provide marketing-related services, and supervise accordingly.

            Participate in the creation and distribution of the following: all marketing collateral materials, announcements, website content; planning, execution and follow-up activities of all client seminars; writing and distribution of firm publications; create specific marketing processes

Education/Experience:

            Bachelor degree in relevant area required; experience in professional services preferred; marcom and media relations experience useful.

            Minimum 5-7 years experience required in a marketing/communications function, with significant program and budget responsibilities and a proven track record of successful implementation of marketing strategies; useful to have strong research and reporting skills.

            Excellent organizational, interpersonal relations, written and oral communication skills; must be familiar with Seattle business community – Board experience preferable.

            Strong customer service attitude; must be self-motivated and independent.

            Must work well under pressure and be a excellent problem-solver.

            Must be a excellent team player.

            Helpful to have prior supervisory experience.

            Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.

            Must have strong attention to detail.

            Will work primarily with confidential Firm and client information.

            Frequently requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
