The Communications Specialist will work closely with two Communications Managers to deliver coordinated marketing communications support to the firm. The successful candidate will have proven oral and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills; the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and tasks; and strong computer skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing Materials and Resources

  • Coordinate marketing collateral distribution, including pitch book supplies
  • Responsible for keeping track of exhibit booth materials in the United States
  • Assistance in the development and implementation of a firmwide collateral database, including advertising and brochures
  • Maintenance of awards and rankings database for firmwide and practice area/office rankings


Web Sites

  • Answer daily e-mails from external Web site and forward to appropriate personnel
  • Post speaking engagements and events on external Web site
  • Review of attorney Web site biographies for consistency with department style guides and templates and coordinate publishing process
  • Assistance editing office, practice, and industry Web site descriptions
  • Assistance with maintenance of internal Web sites


Brand

  • Assistance with planning and implementing phase two of firm brand
  • Coordinate promotional merchandise program and related vendor relationship, including serving as the central point of contact in the maintenance of an online ordering system


Events

  • Assistance in planning the business development aspects (agenda, messaging, speakers, etc.) of firmwide events, such retreats and client receptions
  • Explore general sponsorship opportunities and strategic affiliations


New Hires

  • Coordinate new attorney “welcome” e-mail
  • Conduct new attorney and new assistant orientations on behalf of the marketing department

Internal Communications

  • Assistance on biweekly internal newsletter, including developing and writing stories
  • Edit internal practice newsletters as requested


Business Development

  • Provide business development assistance for Community Services Department, Recruiting, and Diversity groups
  • Edit external client updates as requested

Specific requirements

  • 3+ years marketing communications or related experience
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision
  • Effective interpersonal and team working skills
  • Experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, professional level staff, and peers
  • An ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
