Venable LLP, one of the top 100 law firms in the U.S., is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support the marketing and business development strategies of our Business Division on a local, regional and national basis to work closely with the division to drive growth in key practice areas. As an integral member of the group's marketing strategy team you will work closely with attorneys in the division to develop and implement marketing plans at a client, practice and divisional level, within the framework of the firm's strategic business plan; partner with attorneys in order to maximize the effectiveness of their business development efforts, including RFP responses, client presentations and other BD initiatives; understand industry, regional and national business and legal issues impacting the division and the practice groups, in order to act as counselor and advisor to practice leaders and individual attorneys in growing business from new and existing clients, and increasing client satisfaction; and drive the creation of compelling and highly targeted marketing materials to position and differentiate the firm's practices, and reinforce the firm's brand values. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of the business development process, a thorough understanding of marketing concepts and principles, the ability to work with attorneys on the development of business opportunities, and a minimum of three years marketing management experience.
