Conn. Solo Aims to Be Lawyer for Small Businesses

Small-business owners may not know it, but they need David S. Feldman's legal expertise. Convincing them, he said, is the challenge.

The Milford, Conn., solo is slowly building a preventative law practice in which he offers business owners a fixed monthly rate to serve as their roving general counsel. Of the 200 clients in his two-year-old business law and civil litigation practice, 10 of them pay a $1,500 monthly retainer for Feldman's services in assisting with their businesses' legal needs.
