This session explores a law firm marketer’s inside view of search engine  optimization (SEO) from a non-technical perspective. What is it? How involved should you be? What is an appropriate investment? What should you expect? Navarre and Leitch will address natural search and paid placement and inclusion strategies. They will share tips on using statistics, touching on what is involved if you are performing SEO on an existing site, how much of it you can do in-house and how to communicate with Web and SEO vendors. Participants will take away an understanding that will allow informed decisions on SEO, as well as enough background material to explain what it is and why it may be useful to their firms. In addition, participants will learn jargon and how to communicate with their technical teams.

About the Speakers

To each project she brings her hands-on experience leading advanced Internet initiatives in law firms.

A former international director of the Legal Marketing Association with over 13 years in-house corporate law firm marketing know-how, she has extensive experience in building infrastructure, creative communications, marketing technology, CRM, public relations, and business development culture for law firms.

Jayne helps law firms upgrade and modernize their approach on the Web in building brand equity, prospects, prioritizing information, communicating effectively, incubating content virality, advertising efficiently, and publishing engagingly.

Jayne has given numerous presentations to local chapters and annual conferences of the Legal Marketing Association about technology, specifically the Internet, its capabilities and what law firms could and should be doing to integrate this in their day-to-day business development and marketing communications programs. She has been published in various law journals throughout the United States, and is currently under contract with the LMA to write a white paper on the growth and future of social networking in the legal industry.
