The Intersection of Business & Law

This event will explore emerging issues in international law, the law governing lawyers, and the regulation of the legal profession in Georgia that affect the marketing and delivery of legal services.
 
Topics to be discussed will include:

  • The legal perils of lateral hiring, partner withdrawals, and the dissemination of client information in connection with them
  • The impact of international treaties (GATS and NAFTA) on the regulation of “inbound” and “outbound” legal services in a global economy
  • Why truth in law firm marketing materials and websites really matter
    The fine line between the law firm’s client development activities and the violation of corporate ethics codes
