Where Do Marketing Ideas Come From?

Presented by:

James Schrager
Strategy Professor
University of Chicago Graduate School of Business

Why is it that some firms seem to have no trouble with marketing, while others struggle?  Why do some firms grow rapidly, while others seem to fight for every new client?  Why are some firms in the news all the time, and others barely noticed?  How do law firms grow?  How can your law firm grow? What is the proper role of "marketing" in a law firm?  What happened in the "old days" before firms had marketing departments?  How have things changed?  And what should we do about it?

James Schrager, strategy professor at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business will discuss what every law firm marketer needs to understand about strategy, and why this clumsy and vague topic can't be overlooked when thinking and talking about marketing.
