President's Greeting — 2009

A note from our President

MeganWilroy.jpgHappy New Year! I hope that everyone had a safe and happy holiday season...now it's back to reality.

What does 2009 look like to you? What do you want to accomplish in your career this year? Whatever that goal and no matter your tenure or position, the LMA Chicago Board is here to do what we can to help you accomplish it. Don't think we can? Challenge us. We are looking for ideas and initiatives that make this chapter relevant and beneficial to you.

The 2009 Board and Committee Chairs recently participated in a strategic planning retreat and we are excited and prepared to continue building on our 2008 accomplishments and strive towards even more in 2009. I am thrilled to be leading such an exceptional chapter and thank the 2009 Board and Committee Chairs for their ideas and enthusiasm in planning for the year ahead. 2009 Priorities

At the retreat, the board developed the following initiatives as our 2009 priorities:

  1. Member Recruitment & Retention
    1. Each LMA Chicago member to participate in one initiative in 2009
    2. 10% increase in membership (year over year)
    3. Assess current membership climate
  2. Marketing to Midwest Legal Community
    1. Develop visibility plan with Alliances
    2. Measure awareness within law firm management
  3. Financial Stability
    1. Develop initiatives to (re) invest in the chapter
    2. Create new and innovative sponsorships/ways to generate revenue
    3. Assess current and future financial positions

As you can see we have some lofty and exciting goals this year, but we can't accomplish any of them without each one of you. If you are not already involved in LMA Chicago, come join us! Whatever your interest or expertise, there's a place for you to get involved. Midwest Conference

Friday, Sept. 25 at the Standard Club. Registration will open April 1.

  • We are accepting proposals to present through January 31st! If you are an in-house marketer, consider presenting on a topic or solution that has worked in your firm or a topic you think would be of importance to your colleagues.

2009 Luncheon Programming
