We are pleased to announce that Jean Kwon, legal and government reporter for the Austin Business Journal, is speaking to the LMASE members on the topic of media relations on February 28, 2008.  Listen as Jean gives tips and advice to legal marketers on the best ways to communicate with journalists, what constitutes a newsworthy story and how to stand out from the crowd.  Reporters are often bombarded with press releases and email pitches.  Find out strategies on how your law firm’s story can peek the interest of a journalist and how your lawyers can be called upon for quotes on various topics.  Her perspective as a journalist will serve as an invaluable resource the next time your lawyers are vying for press coverage.

Before joining the ABJ, Jean was a reporter for the Austin American Statesman, the Houston Chronicle and the Houston Business Journal.  Jean earned a BA Cornell University in English literature.

The 300 W. 6th Street parking garage entrances are located on the left-hand side of Lavaca immediately following 6th Street or on the right-hand side of 7th Street immediately following Guadalupe.  Please park in any unreserved space (most are on floors 5-8).  Take the parking garage elevators to the 1st floor which will take you to our building lobby.  Walk to the far elevator bank and then take the elevators to our 21st floor suite.  Please bring your parking ticket in and ask the receptionist for validation.
