Dear LMA Midwest Region Members,
2023 was an incredible year for us! From a sold-out regional conference to creative socials and forward-thinking education, I feel fortunate to have worked alongside 2023 President, Jennifer Shankleton and the Midwest Board of Directors. Thank you, 2023 volunteers, for delivering on your promise of Meaningful Connection and Actionable Education.
As I step into the role of Midwest President, I am thinking about the many volunteers I have had the privilege of learning from over the past seven or so years since I first helped with name tags at a registration table. There is one thing everyone has in common: they are engaged.
I've witnessed and experienced the transformative power of engagement. It fuels our ideas, deepens relationships, gives us confidence and propels our collective knowledge forward. Most importantly, your engagement unites us. When we engage, we build a community that thrives and enriches our lives in and out of the office. Ask any volunteer—it’s the reason we do it.
In this spirit, I challenge you to embrace 2024 as a year of engagement. Engage with the Midwest community by:
- Participating in the socials organized by your LSC leaders…
- Attending the enlightening lunch programs…
- Joining the webinars and chatting with fellow attendees…
- Connecting and staying in touch with the people you meet…
- Asking and answering questions on the SIG message boards…
- Volunteering your time and skills…
I promise you there’s value, meaning and change there. #midwestengage
Your enthusiasm and commitment are the driving force behind the success of the LMA and I am confident that together we will make this year truly exceptional. We have an incredible group of Midwest regional and local leaders, working to create learning opportunities and spaces to connect! Stay tuned for updates and exciting events in the coming months.
