Top producers at most law firms bring in 10-15 times more business than the rest of the attorneys at the firm. There are specific behavioral differences between the types of meetings the top producers have with prospects — including networking, first meetings, seminars, shoot-outs and even social settings — versus the meetings held by the less productive group. Most attorneys are unaware that they should be using a planned process and resort to a canned pitch; and this is why they are so ineffective.
