Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP — Skyline Real Estate Year in Review
S
kyline is an annual publication highlighting the work of the firm's real estate department. The book serves as a visual essay of the firms clients' high profile projects in the areas or development, sales, leasing, financing, restructuring and international real estate. This edition featured the Brooklyn Bridge as its theme, with a cover photo commissioned by the firm of the silhouetted bridge at sunrise.
Throughout the publication, historical renderings of the planning and construction of the bridge introduce each new section, tying together the publication thematically. Exploring the history of this New York landmark also serves as a reminder of the firm's strong New York presence and the real estate department's role in current landmark projects representing such clients as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, City University of New York and Lincoln Center.
Summary of Outcomes
The book was extrememly well-received by the firm’s clients. It consistently receives positive feedback. Skyline is also a useful tool in the firm’s overall recruitment efforts for other practices, since it reinforces the prestige of the firm’s clients and representations.

Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP — 2008 in Review
The goal with 2008 in Review, as it has been in previous years, was to celebrate the firm's clients. Each feature speaks to clients' noteworthy accomplishments before mentioning anything about the firm's work. The service descriptions are intentionally generalized to preserve client confidentiality.
The firm recognized that the business people who read this publication (approximately 50,000 copies are distributed in our various markets) are not going to spend hours reviewing the text, so attractive images were utilized to pull the reader in and text was kept to a minimum. Any annual publication of this kind faces a challenge in maintaining a fresh appearance, while staying true to its mission. The 2008 edition took a unique design approach with a feature called "the Vault." The section folded out with an actual vault-like graphic. Inside were a few items describing client projects that couldn't be attributed to a particular client, but which were typical of the work we were handling for many clients in a very difficult economic environment.
Following the client highlights, two features on attorneys in our firm who received noteworthy honors were included: The Bellotti Award, for work on behalf of the National Association of Attorneys General and the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the Kentucky Bar Association. Also highlighted was the efforts of our attorneys and staff on behalf of Habitat for Humanity, Blessing in a Backpack and the kick-off of Wyatt Women's Network.
Summary of Outcomes
Great anecdotal feedback on the 2008 in Review was received. Featured clients loved the piece and loved the exposure. In addition to the numerous compliments on its appearance, a bank president said he read it cover-to-cover. This feedback confirmed the firm's design approach which centered around attractive images and short, easily-digestible text. The piece was produced entirely in-house (with the exception of minor editing and the printing), which made the expense easier to justify in a difficult economic environment.
